Once, the great Woody Allen said that eighty percent of the success is knowing how to appear. Well, no sentence could be more suitable to explain the epic of Manuel Casati and Roberta Filippelli: risen to the status of real contemporary icons in very short times and for dynamics that few would be able to reconstruct. Their contribution to fashion and contemporary art is undeniable as social, cultural and custom phenomena, and the sudden speed whith which they have become generational reference points is equally undeniable, moreover in a separate category that goes from the universe. The more sectorial and elitist universe of culture up to the more purely "pop" one.
A sublimation of the quarter of an hour of Wahrolian celebrity, which would have made Warhol very happy to explain to us that, essence, there is not much difference between a quarter of an hour and a quarter of a century. It is not given to us to know how long a moment will last: it simply happens, without any warning, and then it is exhausted just as suddenly.
And if the moment is a promise, perhaps ephemeral, of eternity, who can be sure that eternity actually exists in the nature of things? Isn't the moment, in a quantum perspective, to last forever?

Una volta, il grande Woody Allen ebbe a dire che l'ottanta per cento del successo è nel saper apparire. Ebbene, nessuna frase potrebbe esser più adatta per spiegare l'epopea di Manuel Casati e Roberta Filippelli: assurti a rango di icone contemporanee vere e proprie in tempi rapidissimi e per dinamiche che in pochi sarebbero in grado di ricostruire. Fenomeni sociali, culturali e di costume, innegabile è il loro contributo alla moda e all'arte contemporanea, altrettanto innegabile è la repentina velocità con cui sono diventati punti di riferimento generazionali, per di più in una categoria a se stante che va dall'universo culturale più settoriale ed elitario fino a quello più prettamente “pop”.

Una sublimazione del quarto d'ora di celebrità wahroliano, e che avrebbe reso lo stesso Wahrol assai felice di spiegarci che, in sostanza, non c'è grande differenza fra un quarto d'ora e un quarto di secolo. Non ci è dato a sapere quanto durerà un momento: esso accade semplicemente, senza preavviso alcuno, per poi esaurirsi altrettanto improvvisamente.

E se l'attimo è una promessa, forse effimera, di eternità, chi può avere la certezza che l'eternità effettivamente esista nella natura delle cose? Non è forse l'attimo, in una prospettiva quantica, a durare per sempre?
